Ashglow Candle Care Instructions
1. The First Burn is Essential
Create a Full Melt Pool: On the very first use, allow the candle to burn for at least 2-4 hours (or until the entire surface of the wax has melted all the way to the edge of the jar).
Why? This prevents "tunneling," which is when the wax burns straight down the middle, wasting wax and fragrance.
2. Always Trim the Wick
Trim to $1/4$ Inch: Before every single burn, use wick trimmers (or scissors) to trim the wick to about $1/4$ inch (6mm).
Why? This controls the flame size, prevents excess soot (mushrooming), and ensures a clean, long-lasting burn.
3. Practice Safety
Do Not Burn for Too Long: Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
Keep Away from Drafts: Burn the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, windows, or flammable materials (curtains, paper).
Supervise: Never leave a lit candle unattended, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
4. Know When to Say Goodbye
Stop Burning: Discontinue use when only $1/2$ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the jar.
Why? Burning to the very bottom can overheat the glass container.
